Artist Biography

“Like a soft breeze wafting over a tropical Island, the music of Colour Quest stirs up feelings of warmth and happiness. In fact, the band’s name itself refers to a journey towards love and peace of all colours” – Elizabeth Yates

Colour Quest has captured audiences with their electric and high energy live performances since its 2000 inception in Brantford, Ontario.
Their music incorporates a unique blend of soulful vocals over a fusion of island beats, hints of R&B, soca, reggae and pop music; best described as Island Pop.
Colour Quest will release it's first Soca track for 2014 on December 20th, 2013 on Eniko Entertainment record label. "Hot Girl" is a sizzling and scintillating track produced by Tobago born producer CG Dillon. The song will be available to download on the band’s website colourquest.com and all major online music stores such as iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, eMusic and many more.
Colour Quest’s success derives from the virtuosity and versatility of the band members and their musical backgrounds. Each member brings something unique to the table which is the crucial foundation to the identity of this unique band. The two founding members: Dion Simon (lead vocals) and CG Dillon (drums) were born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago where they played in a gospel band together. Omar Johnson (bass) comes from a highly talented musical family in Jamaica just like Evan Simms (keyboard) who also began his musical journey playing in church. Glenn Brown (guitar) was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario; as a result of Glenn’s upbringing, his exposure to rock, blues and jazz music is an essential part to the differentiation in Colour Quest’s original sound. In addition to performing at major festivals and events, Colour Quest opened up for great artists like Beres Hammond, Inner Circle, Richie Spice, Shurwayne Winchester, George Nooks, and many more. In 2007, the group wrote and recorded a song for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to be used for a bicycle safety DVD titled ‘Safe When Yu Ride’. This song was added to their EP Party Up, which was in rotation at various radio stations in Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.

"There is a sonic landscape that's inviting for everyone, toppled with lyrical word play like "Gems like you are rare to find//Like blue diamonds in a mine//The things I'm gonna do to you//If you only make you mine. "Hot Girl" is just a different type of soca song", states producer CG Dillon.
